We are so excited for this fundraiser! But it is ALOT of work, which is part of the reason fun friday hasn't been happening lately. We are very, very busy!! Donation Seeking
Today, Olivia and I went donation seeking in downtown South Bend. We went to many stores, and with some luck, we went home with some cool things for our raffle in our upcoming fundraiser!! We have a horse lamp and lampshade, a lovely chocolate basket, two $10 gift certificates to Le Peep Restaurant, one $10 gift certificate to Tom's Restaurant, two $5 gift certificates to Bruno's Pizza, and one $20 gift certificate to Griffon Bookstore! Thank you to all of these businesses!!

Cage Sit Pictures!!!
I know you are all dying to see pictures of us at the cage sit (haha). So here are some of the pictures we took.

Our food for the 24 hours: a pear, grapes, strawberries, celery, 6 bananas, 2 oranges,
2 clementines, 2 apples, a fruit cup, and (eww) carrots.
Aubrey. She really liked the lighting from the camera flash. (we didn't turn on the lights).

This is a good one to see just how small the cages are. :(

The Cage Sit
It's over! It's over! Olivia and I (Aubrey) sat in a 5x5 cage for 24 hours! Thank you for spreading the word and helping us raise money for Hunter!! We have $100 in off-line pledges that we will add to the blog. Thank you everyone from UPS Elkhart for donating, and thank you everyone from Konica Minolta at Innovation Park for donating!!
About the cage sit:
We understand so much more about what the chimps are going through. We started going crazy about the 7 hour point, until we had some human contact when my mom stopped by. To think that chimps spend their entire lives in cages is unbelievable. The 1.3% difference is enough to ruin their lives FOREVER. GET CHIMPS OUT OF LABS. After doing this, we realize that chimps have it worse than we had ever imagined. This was an amazing experience.

Fun Friday #4
Hey guys! Just to inform you, me and Aubrey have decided to go vegetarian. Permanently! We made a delicious vegetarian dinner tonight (recipe here). Now, on to Fun Friday number 4!

On the bright side, Save the Chimps has raised $730,846.31 for the Million Dollar Matching Arcus Foundation grant. Also on the bright side, Aubrey and I have decided to expand our mission to include all primates (but that won't change this blog from chimps :)).

We have raised $75 in donations since we started cage sitting and $50 have been pledged offline!
